Since Reclam (German publishing house) do not offer theoretical books or vocabularies on creative topics in English, this project has been inspired as an alternative, proposing the idea of a pocket-size “summary” book that could include notes or thoughts from selected books. I took “Art and Visual Perception” by Rudolf Arnheim, which is one of the best (and yet most complex) reads on the psychology of the creative eye. The most important insights and theories have been numbered and organised into chapters using a very generic aesthetic that resembles a monotone, even mechanical, rhythm of note taking. Each chapter is assigned one of the neon marker pen colours and visually enhanced by quick hand-drawn sketches, some of which referring to illustrations seen in the original book.
